Today's topic is why we need brakes and why are the importance of brakes. I think so we all well knew this topic but, today I just make focus with engineering eye,
what is the brake?
Ans In layman language brake is which stop's something moving or which able to something/object when the body is in motion. brakes were firstly discovered by the French Manufacture Louis Renault is founder of drum brakes which is developed in 1902.

what is the requirement for brakes?
Ans 1. able to stop wheel or any other object which is in motion.
2. Every brake must have a good friction coefficient
3. Material not wear out due to high-speed collision with metal durums in case of drum brakes and in the case of disk brake collision with cast iron disk.
4. Cooling rate of disk and drum is faster. : -if we are very high speed and suddenly apply brakes, it increases the temperature of drum and brake material also so we need faster heat dissipation in this case if it remains hot there is increased chances of wear and tear
